If you’re using a Windows Mobile handset, since Friday you may have received messages with the received date as 2016. There isn’t any official support yet but, a .CAB file has been released which is said to solve the problem. There’s also no official word on why this is happening but, speculation points to HEX code. In HEX, 10 is 16. The problem appears to be limited to Windows Mobile devices and also does not affect T-Mobile users.

From Monday 14th December, Tesco are to begin selling the Apple iPhone 3G and 3GS on Pay as You Go and Contract. You can pick the handset up on a 12 month contract, paying £20 a month for £60 worth of calls and texts. However the handset will set you back at least £222. The iPhone 3G 8GB will be £222, while the 16GB 3GS will cost £320 and £407 for the 32GB model.

It’s also available on a £60 a month contract, giving you unlimited calls and texts, which certainly beats the £75 a month tariffs from O2 and Orange. The handset will then be free, apart from the 32GB model which will cost £50.

Or if you’re after the phone on pay as you go, it’ll set you back £342, £440 or £538 for the 8GB, 16GB and 32GB respectively.

All the tariffs including pay as you go, include 12 months unlimited web and wifi like on O2. Tesco Mobile are run on the O2 network, giving you the same coverage you’d get if you picked the handset up on O2, but at perhaps a better price, contract wise.

Like many others I’m sure, my first website was a Yahoo GeoCities website. While HTML knowledge wasn’t needed I learned a lot from making various pages for my personal site. From there my knowledge has grown and I now own several websites with various registrars and have used several hosting companies. GeoCities was at it’s peak in early 1999 but still popular a few years down the line, albeit not as much. Since then the site has gradually become obsolete with other websites taking it’s place and other services such as Blogger and Wordpress among others. Hosting your own website has also become much easier and cheaper, with some free hosting services being available. Because of the decrease in GeoCities usage, Yahoo closed registrations back in April and from October 26th 2009, GeoCities will be no more, with content deleted after then. Yahoo users will be able to switch over to Yahoo! Web Hosting and/or download their pages/files before then.

Since the iPhone was released it has been an exclusive to O2 in the UK but, that’s set to change by the end of this year. Both Orange and Vodafone will begin stocking the iPhone. Orange will begin selling the iPhone at the end of the year, where as Vodafone will start stocking the handset in 2010. Orange have already received 125,000 pre-orders for the handset. No information on what tariff it will be available on but, hopefully we’ll begin seeing the iPhone available on cheaper tariffs from all three networks.

With all the different handsets which come out, a lot feature not only many high tech specs but, also a high tech price. If you’ve got bad credit it may seem impossible to get a brand spanking new phone. All is not lost though, there are ways which could build up your rating, or loyalty to a network.

The first and foremost way is as a Pay as You Go user which many people will already be on. While it’s not guaranteed, you’re loyalty to a network when upgrading from pay as you go to monthly contract may be beneficial.

Another way is through sim only tariffs. These require a credit check but, aren’t as difficult to pass as a full out contract. Sim only tariffs are 30 day contracts which can be cancelled at any time. The contract price per month is very reasonable for the minutes you get. If you’ve already got an ok phone and use too much credit on pay as you go, it’s well worth looking into these. I’ve personally taken one out and it’s working out very well for me.

T-Mobile are said to have a great approval rate on their Solo tariff. Bad Credit Mobile Contracts can give you more information on how to combat bad credit for mobile phone contracts.

While this may be considered slightly old news, I’ve just purchased an LG Renoir and while browsing for tips, tricks and info on it, I came across some photos of the phone in pink. The Renoir is the successor to LG’s popular Viewty. Since the Renoir, the Arena and Viewty Smart have also been released, also pushing forward even more from the Viewty. As we’ve seen before, the Arena has already been spotted in pink and now we can show you how the Renoir fairs in pink. Personally I prefer the sleek titanium/black finishing on the Renoir, but the pink finish is very popular among many women.
